I have had Dave Morrow coaching me now through 3, 12 week programs in the middle of the COVID pandemic when the world shut down. My goal was simple; ski the Canadian Ski Marathon in February 2021.
I work in an Analysis Lab in a University. There were lots of scientific questions to answer quickly. So the lab work went into overdrive. At the same time, several people I work with couldn't work. The team was down from 4 to 1 (me).
So how does Dave Morrow fit into this? Dave sent me a program to do everyday. I said to myself, no matter what I was going to take at least 1.5 hours in a day and follow the workout. It was my mental break.
In the end, the Faculty of Engineering nominated me as an Unsung Hero (mainly because I kept it together and never flinched at the piles of work.
This is in large part due to the BE.A.S.T. Program Dave Morrow put together for me. I skied my half marathon and finished it too!
Next step, adding workouts and train for a 5km run....here's a shoutout to my coach...helping me get back to a positive more healthy me for myself and make my family Hard To Kill.

Additionally, veterans are shown to be less physically active due to the above-mentioned issues and this has a negative impact on their mental health. A study showed that most, 95%, don't get the minimum daily requirement for exercise per day. Poor physical activity levels, increases all cause mortality, obesity rates and mental health issues.
